ICT skills are amongst the most essential skills for new jobs, digitally enabled industries outperform their traditional competitors; by 2020 90% of all jobs will be expected to require some form of digital skills. Encouraging the younger generation to realise that the right digital skills are amongst the most important core skills for employability is a crucial step in addressing the broad challenge of additional skilled resources for 21st century jobs. As an integral part of the broad consultation process on the Framework for an Education Strategy for Malta, the eSkills Malta Foundation organised a stakeholder consultation meeting on Tuesday 29th April 2014. Participants had the opportunity to contribute to the National 2014-2024 Education Strategy for Malta and in the work of the eSkills Foundation in fostering the professional ICT skills for the Digital Economy.
