The Swedish Innovation Agency Vinnova has launched a call for proposals to develop new cybersecurity solutions in industry. The call is part of the Advanced Digitalisation programme and aims to prepare the industry for the cybersecurity challenges arising from the implementation of advanced digitalisation in Swedish industry. Many different technologies are developing rapidly in Sweden today and it is important that cybersecurity is part of these developments. The call provides support for the development of technologies and processes as well as other key aspects of industrial cybersecurity.
Projects funded are expected to develop solutions to the potential challenges of cybersecurity arising from the implementation of new technologies and working methods. It is then expected that consolidated lessons and knowledge will be presented in a final report open to the public. Projects must include at least one project partner with a clear link with Swedish industry. This refers to activities using IT/OT systems in their core activities, such as aviation, ports, manufacturing, processing, mining and mineral industries, forestry, medical devices, food or automotive. In addition, applicants may be from industry, academia, institutes and public services or authorities.
The project partner applying for a grant shall be a Swedish legal person established in Sweden. In this respect, a foreign organisation which has a branch or place of business in Sweden is treated as a Swedish legal person.
Projects can be run by both individual actors and broad actor configurations. The maximum duration of the projects is 2 years. Each individual project can apply for a grant of between SEK 2 million and SEK 10 million. The maximum aid intensity per project partner is defined by the State aid rules. The total budget for the call for proposals is SEK 40 million.
The closing date for applications is 13 September 2023, 14.00. Decisions are notified by 31 October 2023 and projects can start from 1 November to 15 November 2023.
