Malta Digital Skills and Jobs Platform (LISP)

Funding

The XR4ED Project (Extended Reality for Education), funded by the Horizon Europe programme, aims to support different types of organisations in developing and validating XR educational solutions. The XR4ED Open Call is divided into two tracks: the Call for Developers and the Call for Pilots, both designed to enhance the XR4ED platform through the contribution of third-party solutions.

The project is divided into six thematic areas:

  • Virtual field trip

  • Content creation and exploration

  • Awareness of climate change and biodiversity challenges

  • Training of young professionals and upskilling

  • Distance and blended learning

  • Inclusiveness and accessibility

Objective

The objective of the Call for Developers is to provide digital learning solutions using XR technologies, including hardware and software, to enrich the XR4ED platform. Applicants must select one of the six areas and propose a solution for it. This track aims to advance early prototypes to a more developed stage.

The Call for Pilots focuses on creating market-ready educational products that address one of the six areas. These products will undergo mini-pilot testing in collaboration with educational institutions. The developed solutions will be based on open standards and published in the European solution catalogue.

By integrating two open calls, the XR4ED project aims to validate and enrich its platform, demonstrating its potential as a development  platform for XR technologies.
