Cisco NetAcademy is an international training programme in information technology and cybersecurity, the oldest and longest part of the broader Cisco CSR programme. The organisation offers a wide range of online training (free and paid) for employees and jobseekers, as well as upskilling opportunities for information and communication technology (ICT) and other digital professionals.
Most of the on-line Cisco NetAcademy trainings provide an extensive repository of learning materials and resources from start-ups to more advanced levels. Training topics differ: from the general development and improvement of digital skills and competences, to software analysis, coding and programming, and emerging technologies such as the Internet of Things, artificial intelligence and cybersecurity.
Cisco NetAcademy dates back to 1997 when Cisco donated some network and information technology (IT) to local schools which were not used due to a lack of knowledge and training on how to work with this technology. Building on this experience, Cisco developed an IT and cybersecurity training programme to support ICT students, staff and specialists in their individual learning path to improve the overall talent potential and competitiveness of the sector.
