Malta Digital Skills and Jobs Platform (LISP)

TheCyprus Ministry of Education and Culture (MOEC) is responsible for all levels of education in Cyprus: public and private schools, pre-school, primary and secondary education, tertiary and higher education. It also proposes a budget for education, proposes new laws and implements existing ones. Vocational education and training is also the responsibility of the Ministry.

The Ministry employs around 500 employees and works with 12.000 teachers across the Cypriot education system.

Between 2023 and 2024, the Ministry will increase state-provided and free pre-school education for children from 4 years of age, in line with the priority to improve accessibility of education and promote lifelong learning from an early age. The Ministry has an office that deals with EU and international matters such as international cooperation, EU relations and participation in EU-funded projects. The Office also facilitates the adaptation and replication of EU-wide best practices in digital skills and education.
