Réseaux IP Européens (RIPE), translating to “European IP Networks” in French, is a pivotal forum facilitating collaboration among entities interested in wide area IP networks. Operating as an independent, not-for-profit membership organization, RIPE strives to ensure administrative and technical coordination critical for the functioning of the Internet. Serving as the Regional Internet Registry (RIR), RIPE allocates global Internet resources (IPv4, IPv6, and AS Number resources) to its diverse membership, primarily comprising Internet service providers (ISPs), telecommunication entities, and major corporations situated in Europe, the Middle East, and parts of Central Asia.

RIPE’s core mission involves acting as a steward for unique Internet number resources, fostering the development and operation of the Internet. Embodying values of trustworthiness, openness, inclusivity, and care, RIPE actively contributes to the Internet’s stability and evolution. The organization provides essential services to its members, including resource registration, LIR Portal maintenance, Resource Certification (RPKI), and engages with the broader Internet community through activities such as managing a root name server, DNS services, information services, research and analysis, outreach, and community engagement. RIPE envisions shaping the future of the Internet through its commitment to an open, collaborative, and inclusive model.
