This study analyses workforce upskilling initiatives for emerging technologies in the IT sector, aiming to identify effective strategies to prepare professionals for the evolving digital landscape. Using a systematic literature review and content analysis, the research examines upskilling programs, focusing on design, implementation, and outcomes. Key findings emphasise the need to anticipate technological trends and highlight the importance of personalised and experiential learning pathways.

The study advocates for inclusive and accessible learning opportunities to create a diverse competitive workforce. Recommendations for stakeholders include adopting flexible learning models, fostering industry-academia partnerships, and developing technical and soft skills. It underscores the need for a proactive, collaborative approach to IT education and workforce development.

The IT workforce can remain agile and innovative amid technological advancements by integrating advanced learning technologies and inclusive strategies. This framework sets the foundation for future research and policy-making to enhance the IT sector’s resilience and diversity.
