The digital transformation of SMEs is a process of innovation and change in business organisations resulting from the integration of digital skills, technologies and services and is a key element in increasing productivity, internationalisation, potential growth and closing social, territorial and gender gaps.
In addition to boosting the basic digitalisation of SMEs, the Plan envisages boosting disruptive innovation (Artificial Intelligence, Internet of Things, Big Data) to seize the opportunities of the data-driven economy through scalable programmes to be deployed through public-private partnerships.
