Training opportunities

‘AI for Agriculture Technology and Climate Change’ is an online course developed by the Department of Continuing Education of Oxford University. The course aims at professionals in the sectors of agriculture, agtech, sustainability/climate change and food value chain, who aspire to be pioneers in the application of AI in their domains.

The main objective of this online course is to teach how to apply AI techniques to specific problems in agriculture and climate change and explore the wider impact of these technologies in the food value chain. Students will have the unique opportunity to gain a clear understanding of applying AI to complex, interdisciplinary problems based on data. In particular, the course emphasises AI for Good and AI with cyber-physical systems (e.g.  AI with Edge, systems thinking and design thinking), which implies that participants are encouraged to bring a data-driven mindset to this exciting emerging domain.

The course includes among its topics the use of AI in:

Details of the course

The course will run over six sessions on 5 – 16 June 2023. These live video sessions will be held on Microsoft Teams at 15:00 – 18:00 (UK time) on: Monday 5 June, Wednesday 7 June, Friday 9 June, Monday 12 June, Wednesday 14 June and Friday 16 June.

The course comes with a fee and participants who attend the full course (attending all of the live sessions) will receive a University of Oxford electronic certificate of attendance.
