Women in Tech MOOC

The Women in Tech MOOC is a free online course which aims to: support women working in the technological industries, raise awareness on the advantage of STEM, get people interested about new tech (in particular, older groups), and identify job and learning opportunities in order to stay competitive in the job market. The course is funded by the European Union and the result of a collaboration between FROLLEINFLOW and AKMI.

Context

This project is a result of two observations: Europeans are getting older, and the digital transformation is rapidly changing both society and the job market. In response to having identified potential employment opportunities in the technical sector for people over the age of 45 – in particular women – this MOOC aims to encourage women in this age group to consider the tech jobs.

Training outcomes applications

Aimed at women working in the technological sector, this MOOC aims to provide participants with:

  • Increased confidence in new technologies
  • Identify opportunities in the digital labour market
  • Identify the starting points for working in tech
  • Demonstrate to other women how they can actively participate in shaping the digital future through a career in tech

In addition to this, the MOOC has created further networking opportunities for participants of the MOOC on LinkedIn and EPALE.

Practical details

The MOOC is free, but registration is required. The MOOC is taught in English and will be available online for at least 2 years, starting in May 2023.

A certificate is not provided after completing this course.
