Strategy

The implementation period of the National Digital Skills Programme for employees in the small and medium-sized enterprises is until 31 December 2023 and its objective is to improve the level of digital skills for employees through the introduction of work-based learning programmes. This government decision supports the organisation and conduct of campaigns that lead to digital literacy, but also their adaptation to economic sectors or areas of smart specialisation.

The National Digital Skills Programme for employees in the small and medium-sized enterprises contributes to the achievement of the following result indicators:

  • Persons who acquire a qualification/who have validated their skills in the economic sectors/fields with intelligent specialization.
  • Enterprises that introduce workplace learning programs 6 months after the end of the support, of which SMEs, within the projects selected for financing according to the specific eligibility rules.

The eligible activities within the National Digital Skills Programme for employees in the small and medium-sized enterprises are:

  • The provision of professional training programs exclusively in the field of digital literacy and information and communication technology.
  • Assessment and certification of professional skills exclusively in the field of digital literacy and information and communication technology. 
  • Support granted to enterprises for the organization of learning programs at the workplace, in the field of digital literacy and information and communication technology.
  • Organizing and conducting awareness campaigns for employers who operate in the economic sectors with competitive potential identified or for employers who intend to adapt their activity to these economic sectors/areas of smart specialization previously mentioned, regarding the importance and necessity of employee participation in continuous training programs.

The performance indicators of the program are:

  • At least 5,000 employees benefiting from training programs.
  • Minimum 500 supported enterprises.

The result indicators of the program are at least 4,000 people who acquire a qualification/who have validated their skills in the economic sectors/areas of intelligent specialization at the end of the participant quality.In addition, minimum of 60 SMEs introducing workplace learning programs 6 months after the end of the support.
